How to add your own background images on Microsoft Teams

Not strictly XM, but it will help you look more professional in those online meetings with your clients, improving the overall experience!

Microsoft Teams had rolled out custom backgrounds for your to choose the background for your video calls. But they have not yet released the option to upload your own pictures.

But, here is how to upload your own now...

Choose the images you want to use as your background, then...

• Copy your image(s), (Ctrl+C) then navigate to the following folders and paste your images into the folder...

On Windows...

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds/Uploads

On Mac...

Users\username\Library\Application\Support\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads

Next, start Microsoft Teams desktop app

• Start a video call
• Click on the 3 dots in the control panel menu and click Show background effects. 
• Your images will appear in the side bar. Scroll down until you see you own images.
• Select an image and click the Preview Button. 
• If you like what you see, click the Apply Button. 

When you preview your background it will appear in reverse to you, but the right way round to others.
